self-X Artificial Intelligence for European Process Industry digital transformation 

The s-X-AIPI Horizon Project will research, develop, test and experiment an innovative toolset of custom trustworthy self-X AI technologies. These applications will minimize human involvement in the loop and exhibit self-improving abilities. 

 
  • The aim is to provide existing process industries and its workers with agility of operation, improvement of performance across different indicators and state of the art AI-based sustainability tools for the design, development, engineering, operation and monitoring of their plants, products and value chains.

    Objectives

  • Demonstration at four representative industrial use cases (asphalt, steel, aluminium and pharmaceutics) will generate a showcase portfolio of trustworthy AI technologies.

The Project

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a key driver of the industrial digital revolution along with data and robotics. The challenge today is to increase AI deployment that is practically and economically sufficient in industrial sectors.


For this purpose the s-X-AIPI project will aim towards developing AI applications with more simplified interfaces, that will not require highly skilled workforce, but will nonetheless exhibit longer useful life and require less specialized maintenance.

This toolset of AI technologies aims to impact-fully accelerate the digital transformation of process industries, which lie at the start of most value chains, towards a sustainable and more agile future, while minimising impact from internal and external influences, and by facilitating the human in the loop role.
